Google Introduces Passkey Feature for Cloud and Workspace Users

Google has revealed that it will be introducing passkeys assistance for Google Workspace and Google Cloud accounts.

“Starting today in open beta, more than 9 million organizations can let their users sign in to Google Workspace and Google Cloud accounts using passwords instead of passwords,” the tech giant said in a post on Tuesday.

Passwords is a new password-less login method that allows users to log in using a fingerprint, facial recognition, or other screen lock mechanism on phones, laptops, or desktops, providing a convenient and secure authentication experience on websites and apps.

Last month, the company unveiled passwords as an additional sign-in option for personal Google accounts.

Users can still use passwords to sign in to their work and personal Google Accounts, but passwords provide a simpler, more secure option and can reduce the impact of phishing and other manipulation attacks.

“Passwords are also designed with user privacy in mind,” the company said.

“A user’s biometric data is never sent to Google servers or other websites and applications,” he added.
